She's passionate about the outdoors and will do anything to help preserve and protect it for future generations of athletes to enjoy. Korrie's best XTERRA performance was a third place finish in her age group at the 2006 XTERRA World Championships in Maui.
Mary Ellen LaBerge
Mary Ellen has been actively and competitively involved in athletics all my life. As a person who has trouble sitting still or focusing on any one thing for any length of time, her involvement in a multitude of various sports over the years has served as a great outlet for her energy. Mary Ellen always believed that people should participate in activities that put a smile on their faces, and challenges to the body certainly do that for her. Competing as a marathon runner was a passion for many years – until a hip replacement 3 yrs ago. She had already discovered the excitement of mountain biking by that time, and flying down a mountain in an XTERRA triathlon seemed quite natural. What didn’t seem possible was that she would win the NW Regional competition, and go on to win Nationals at Lake Tahoe as well! A that point Mary Ellen's compulsive need for challenging competition had been met! From there she went on to take second in the 2006 XTERRA World Championships. MaryEllen says that the thrill of the podium is no match for the the thrill of the hours of training leading up to it. Hours spent with young, energetic friends and REAL competitors make the hours of difficult training exciting, challenging and inspiring.
